We design workplaces for businesses every day. This time, we became our own client, creating a regional hub designed for growth, connection and collaboration.

Brief

Designing for where we're going

With our South regional team expanding, we had outgrown our previous Reigate office. As both client and designer, we had the opportunity to challenge our own assumptions about what a better workplace should deliver.

We needed a flexible environment that supported different ways of working, brought people together and welcomed clients and partners.

Just as importantly, the new space needed to accommodate future growth while making the most of our existing furniture, joinery and modular rooms.

Approach

Starting with our people

Being our own client gave us a unique perspective. We knew firsthand what worked in our previous office and what needed improving. Through team feedback and leadership discussions, we challenged our own brief to create a workplace shaped by real experience.

Making every square foot count

Designing for ourselves meant questioning our own priorities. We challenged the original boardroom position, freeing up the glazed frontage for a social hub and client showroom. Thoughtful zoning created a journey through the space, balancing collaboration, focused work and client experience.

Designing with the future in mind

Our approach to sustainability began long before the move. With 70% of our existing furniture brought into the new office, alongside joinery and modular rooms, we challenged ourselves to create a cohesive design that reduced unnecessary replacement and protected our investment.

Features

A social hub that changes how we come together

Positioned at the entrance, the social hub creates an immediate sense of welcome. More than a breakout area, it provides a flexible setting for informal meetings, presentations, team gatherings and everyday interaction, bringing people together throughout the working day.

A working showcase of our expertise

Our Reigate office doubles as a live showroom, bringing together furniture, finishes and materials from our trusted supplier partners. A dedicated materials library and varied workplace settings allow clients to explore design possibilities and experience solutions in a working environment.

A layout designed around different activities

Thoughtful zoning creates a balance between open-plan workstations, collaborative areas and quieter settings. Modular meeting rooms and informal workspaces provide choice throughout the day, while maintaining an open, connected environment that can adapt as our regional team grows.

Creating connections beyond our workplace

Designed to be more than a home for our regional team, the office provides a welcoming space for clients, partners and the wider business community. Flexible social and presentation areas create opportunities to host events, share ideas and strengthen local relationships.

Details

Rich mocha tones, soft sage greens and rust-red accents bring warmth and character to the space. Inspired by residential interiors, layered textures, complementary flooring and carefully selected finishes create a relaxed, welcoming feel. Curved ceiling detailing adds architectural interest, subtly weaving the Workplace Creations identity into the design.

Nobody’s Child was relocating from 3,400 ft² in Camden to this 16,372 ft², two-floor fit-out in Angel. We designed it around their very specific needs, taking into consideration everything from lighting and storage to the movement of clothes rails.
