The Challenge
Blending bold brand expression with industrial influences.
Our client, a confidential global technology company, tasked us with delivering a light-touch refurbishment of their Leeds office. While the project needed to reflect the company’s strong brand identity, it also had to embrace the character of the local area and introduce features that would support a more inclusive and flexible way of working. The challenge lay in fusing an industrial-inspired design within a relatively modern building, while ensuring the bold branding elements felt cohesive rather than clashing.
Our Approach
Tailoring brand elements to suit the building’s character.
We approached this challenge by carefully selecting bespoke materials and finishes that complemented both the client’s brand and the industrial design aesthetic. This included textured concrete finishes, dark Crittall-style details and brick-effect walls, all balanced with softening touches such as biophilia and vintage-style lighting. By tailoring the branding details to work with the architecture rather than against it, we were able to create a space that felt both authentic and on-brand.
The Solution
A flexible and accessible workplace rooted in local identity.
Our design focused on three key priorities: enhancing the arrival experience to support brand and client engagement; introducing a flexible events space with a sliding wall that allows for either one large auditorium or two separate areas; and refreshing finishes and lighting to give the entire office a warmer, more welcoming atmosphere. We also introduced new accessible features such as a wellness room and WC, aligning with the client’s inclusion-focused workplace values.
The Outcome
A people-focused space that feels local, modern and inviting.
In just nine weeks, the Leeds office was transformed into a space that not only meets the functional needs of the team, but also tells a story about place, people and purpose. The refreshed workplace has successfully encouraged greater staff attendance and delivered a more accessible and brand-aligned environment. With a design that feels distinctly local yet globally recognisable, the space strikes a balance between heritage and innovation.
